Assaggini , 227 Byres Road, Glasgow
Last week I paid a visit to the newly opened Italian restaurant in Glasgow, Assaggini. Located in Byres Road, Assaggini offers a fairly extensive menu primarily featuring small plates of pizza and pasta. It's suggested to opt for two to three dishes per person, though the portions were much bigger than I was expecting! I loved the Lamb Ragu pasta, and can you ever go wrong with a classic pomodoro?
There is no shortage of Italian restaurants in Glasgow, but Assaggini seems ready to find its place in Glasgow's food scene. I loved the small plates style, it makes for a great sharing experience where you can try a little bit of everything.
Gōst - New Sunday Lunch Menu, 77 Bothwell Street, Glasgow
Gōst in Glasgow have debuted their brand-new Sunday lunch menu and I popped in try it out. As a first-timer, I'd say the experience was great.
The menu isn't huge, but it does cover the basics for a Sunday lunch. I went for the beef roast, and it turned out to be an inspired choice. The highlight of our visit, however, was the cocktails. The menu is extensive, featuring special Gōst crafted cocktails with a variety of interesting ingredients. I chose the spectre cocktail which was black with gold shimmering flakes.
On the whole, our experience with Gōst's new menu was great. If you're after a straightforward Sunday dining spot with a modern vibe, Gōst might just be the place for you.
Golf Fang & Smokey Trotters Kitchen New Collab, 82 - 100 Lancefield Street, Glasgow
Golf Fang in Glasgow has undergone significant changes. They recently announced a partnership with the popular street food spot Smoky Trotters Kitchen, which is based in Calton in the east end. If you haven't experienced Golf Fang before, it's an expansive mini-golf venue—one of the largest and best I've encountered. The 18 well-designed holes offer a fun, if slightly eccentric, activity spot.
Smoky Trotters Kitchen has set up shop at Golf Fang, bringing their viral burger specialties. Known for their unique take on dipping burgers, fries, and chicken, they are undoubtedly a great addition to Golf Fang.
